1 tsp dry mustard
1/3 inch purple onion
1/3 cup cider vinegar
Blend ingredients together in a blender
add:
1 cup oil- add slowly while blending
mix by hand:
1 tsp poppy seeds
Stroganoff
Ingredients:
Round Steak
Oil
Pepper
Brown Gravy Mix -4 plus pkgs. ( I use the bulk Brown Gravy Mix from Costco)
water
Mushrooms
Sour Cream
Flour
Extra Wide Egg Noodles
Salt and Pepper
Directions:
Cut round steak into pieces ( bite size or slightly larger). Brown meat in frying pan with oil. Pepper round steak pieces. Put meat into crock pot. Slice mushrooms and add on top off meat in crock pot. Make gravy mix in a bowl according to directions. I usually do 1 cup of water to 3 tablespoons of mix. It does not have to be measured too accurate- the more gravy mix, the better the flavor! You will want to fill your crock pot almost to the top with the gravy mixture so you have plenty of sauce. It may be 4 cups water with mix- maybe more/less depending on your crock pot size. Cook on low for 7 hours. Once meat looks done and basically falls apart you add the sour cream. Before you do this step start boiling your noodles. Cook noodles according to package. Add one heaping tablespoon of sour cream at a time to the meat mixture. Be sure to blend in thoroughly before adding more sour cream so that the cream doesn't curdle. I typically end up adding about 1 cup of sour cream. After a few tablespoons test your stroganoff to determine how much more sour cream you want. Make a flour/water mixture to thicken.(1 cup should be enough) I run this slowly through a small stainer to catch dough boys. Do this slowly because the stroganoff will be hot and you don't want to cook any dough boys! Add noodle. Let it sit a little in the crock pot and it will firm up a little and make it easier to serve. Keep the lid on and set to warm. It needs to be salt and peppered but I generally just let each individual add what they want to their own serving. Enjoy!!
